Security Companies misrepresent themselves in Knoxville, TN

During recent meetings and events Liberty Security Systems has been made aware of the fact that there have been several new Security Companies popping up in the and east TN region. The TBFAA (Tennessee Burglar Fire Alarm Association) has received growing complaints as well as the state regarding some of these companies. These companies do not always follow legal or ethical practices.

According to statements several people are dropped off in neighborhoods to conduct door to door sales. You will most likely not see a vehicle or proper identification. The door to door sales approach is probably the oldest style of sales, but there are a few things you need to be aware of.

1. Some communities require that companies selling door to door register with the local municipality and obtain a permit. Ask to see their local door to door permit. If they fail to have one, notify the authorities.

2. In some cases these sales people claim that your current security company has gone out of business, sold their business or won't be able to service your system any longer. Some reports say they are even going so far as to claim they work for your current alarm company or manufacturer and must make changes to the system for it to continue working properly. Verify this information before doing anything!

3. Identification is very important! Liberty Security Systems, Inc has badges that are issued by the state that we carry to insure that we have completed our background checks on all employees; we also have our vehicles clearly identifiable with our TN license number. Ask for identification, they should provide you a photo ID! If they do not provide a photo ID contact the authorities immediately.

4. Do not let a sales person into your home. Should you decide to meet with them, schedule an appointment for a later date. Some of these companies are operating in TN without a license, their offices are in another state.

5. Check out the company that they claim to be affiliated with. There are several great ways to obtain information, visit the Better Business Bureau or you can even visit http://www.google.com/ and type their company name in the search engine with the word "reviews" behind it. This should pull reviews written about this company. Do not be bullied in to signing anything. If they are a legitimate company then they can wait a day or so for you to make your decision and verify that you are not currently under contract.

Helping raise money for the Farragut, TN chamber of commerce...

The Farragut, TN chamber of commerce held their annual auction event on April 25 2009 in an effort to raise money and Liberty Security Systems was there to help. Liberty Security Systems designed a table centerpiece standing over 5 feet tall to be auctioned at this event. All proceeds raised went to help the Farragut, TN chamber of commerce.

Knoxville, TN May 5, 2009 -- Liberty Security Systems, Inc. designed a centerpiece that stood over 5 feet tall and was to be auctioned off at the Farragut chamber of commerce annual auction on April 25, 2009. The theme of the auction was to have each table represent one state in the U.S.A. Home town USA is what the Farragut chamber called this event.
Liberty Security Systems chose to use New Hampshire as our table theme. There are a great many historic facts that span throughout the U.S.A. and we had the opportunity to learn while we created our theme. Our centerpiece was a very tall glass vase that held N.H. style beach sand at the base, a large arrangement of silk lilac flowers that represented the states flower and a U.S.A. flag.

As we displayed a journey to another state we secured a hot air balloon inflated with helium to fly above the lilac vase. In the hot air balloon basket sat a beanie bear, also representing an animal of abundance in N.H. Our hot air balloon design came from the fact that Liberty Security Systems, Inc. used to own and fly our very own hot air balloon. Our pilot and co-founder Robert Kelly still holds his hot air ballooning license.

This evenings event was gracious and smooth, the lighting set the tone of an upscale event and Liberty Security Systems, Inc was ready for the seated guests at our table. We displayed a New Hampshire welcome book in the center of the our table, take home special invitations for our own promotion at each place setting, lilac scented candles in a teal cloth bag as our thank you gifts and a sales folder with detailed product information to be taken home with each guest.
Liberty Security Systems, Inc. would like to take this opportunity to thank the Farragut Chamber of commerce for allowing us the opportunity to participate in this event. Our community is very important to us and we look forward to next years event.

Domestic violence on the rise in Knoxville, TN

During my usual morning drive to work an announcement came across the radio that grabbed my attention. Recent studies show that domestic violence is on the rise in Knoxville, TN. They are directly correlating it with the start of the recession as of last year. Some of the statistics they rattled off were: Domestic violence was up 11% from previous studies, from 2004 thru 2006 Knoxville dispatchers answered 16,400 calls annually and in 2007 the number of calls jumped to 18,600.
